Following me last blog I have ben made aware that these scammers are working in large numbers nationally so another warning is definitely appropriate.
Doesn’t matter which provider you are with, so far I have had reports amongst others from BT, Sky, Talk Talk and Virgin customers.
What happens is that your phone will ring (Witheld or Unknown number for those with caller display). The caller will start by saying that they are calling about your computer which is sending back error messages. They then go on to take your computer over using teamviewer and after a long time, up to an hour you will be told they have detected a large number of faults. You will then be told that their office will call you back. That happens and you are told that a blocking software is necessary which obviously you have to pay for.
Obviously you have to give your card details and then you get ripped off, cost me £102 which I am still arguing with my bank about.
So, if you get one of these calls just end it straight away. Your internet provider whoever your’s is will NEVER call you to report faults.
